New Zealand Hotels
Hotels in New Zealand are by far the most popular form of holiday accommodation. On the North island, the major cities include Auckland and Wellington. Auckland is home to more Neww Zealander's that any other New Zealand city and Wellington is the country's capital. Regional areas on the north island including places like The Bay of Islands, The Bay of Plenty, Rotorua, Hamilton, Taupo, Napier and the like are all seviced by chains of hotels. Millenium Hotels, Heritage Hotels and grand hotels International all have a number of hotels in the North island.
On the south island the major cities are Christchurch, Queenstown, Invercargill and Dunedin while many smaller towns also have hotels to cater for the tourist trade. Places like Nelson in the Marlboro Sounds, Kaikoura, Hanmer Springs, Lake Tekapo, Timaru, Methven, Mount Cook, Wanaka, Te Anau, Milford Sound and Fox Glacier are all well serviced with lots of hotels and apartments. Queenstown is the skiing capital of New Zealand and there are a large number of hotels to choose from. The Accor hotels group, Peppers resorts, Mantra Hotel group and many others have great accommodation here for travelers to choose from.
Because of the popularity of New Zealand as a holiday destination it is always wise to book well in advance. There are continually a large number of organised coach tours traveling throughout both islands and they can occupy much of the available hotel accommodation in some destinations, so remember to book your New Zealand hotel accommodation as early as you can.
